My Czalczynski family
My father lost almost all of his paternal family during the Holocaust.
In my research, I was able to locate his family's home for 170 years, near the small hamlet from which our name originates.
The Czalczynski family, since 1778, remained in the same sthetl, Olszowka, "Kolony" of the small town of Lopuszno, in the district of Kielce.
What is incredible is that the region passed under different dominations: first the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth, then Austrian, then Polish under Napoleonic occupation, and Russian for more than a hundred years, until the end of World War I and the proclamation of the Second Polish Republic.
It was the Holocaust that put an end to this sedentary Polish life, exterminating 90% of all our families.

My sister and I have names inherited from the Czalczynski family, for me Perla, the name of her mother, for my sister a "Frenchification" of the name of her father Kasril = Catherine and Fanny, the name of her stepmother.
1- Szmul Czalczynski
born in 1915 in Lopszno and died in 2007 in Paris.
He arrived in Paris in November 1946, under a false name, but resumed using his own in May 1947.
2-Itzack Czalczynski,
Born in 1926 in Wloszczowa, died in 2013 in Melbourne. Married to Anita Kouklinski, he changed his name to Jack Cutler
