My Grandmother Perele Landscape
Perla Landschaft was born in 1893.
It is impossible to retrieve her civil status records, birth, marriage and death certificates.
Therefore, I can only make assumptions and rely on my father's memory.

Poland is divided into 16 provinces: our family lived in what is now the district of Santa Cruz.
The administrative region of Santa Cruz is divided into powiats; the Landschaft family was in the Jedrzejowski powiat.
Each powiat is divided into communes. The one in the Landschaft was that of Sedziszow, where the sthetl of Klimentow was located.

Her story was brief: she died at the age of 24.
My grandparents' first child, Mayer-Ber, was born in 1911.
I presume they married around 1909 or 1910: my grandmother was 16 or 17 years old at the time, and my grandfather was 26 or 27. What surprises me is that my parents were also 11 years apart!
My father was born 4 years later in 1915 during the First World War, in Lopuszno. He said that this was not where his family lived.
They lived in Klimontow in the district of Jedrezjow (about forty kilometers away), the sthtel of the Landschaft family.
The third child, Moshe, was born in 1918. He was a few months old when his mother died in 1919, my father said of Typhus.
I don't know if she was in Klimontow or Lopuszno at that time.

If she died in Lopuszno, it could be attributed to the war that devastated the city.
If she died in Klimontow, it was most likely from an epidemic.
His own father, Majer, died the same year, perhaps in Klimontow, according to my father. Typhus or the Spanish flu that was ravaging all of Europe?
I don't have any photos of my grandparents.

Among my father's papers, there was this photo of a young woman and a young boy. I rule out that they are my paternal grandparents, as they were ten years apart in age.
But it could be Mayer-Ber (in 1919, he was 8 years old) and his mother, Perele. This photo was taken in Kielce.
The clothes are closer to the late 19th century than the mid-20th century. But could these be Perele's parents: Majer Landschaft (1845) and Ruchla Zaks (1847)?
They got married in 1865!
